In the academic year 2018/2019 there are 198 private schools operating in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, distributed in Abu Dhabi City, Al Ain City and Al Dhafra Region, serving about 253,000 students. Students enrolled in private schools accounts for around 65% of total students’ population in the Emirate.

Private schools in the emirate of Abu Dhabi follow 14 different curricula in which schools that are offering the MOE, American, British and Indian curricula attracted around 88% of total students’ enrollment in private schools.

Understand the requirements and the licensing process then apply for the application online via the registration ePortal OSL ADEK.     



In case all licensing requirements are met, ADEK issues the Provisional License Letter (PPL) for the investor.     


Musataha Agreement

Once the educational land is allocated, ADEK will ratify the Musataha agreement for signature with Department Of Urban Planning And Municipalities.     


Building construction

Investors shall obtain all governmental approvals to start constructing the new School.     


Start operating

Investors shall obtain ADEK Temporary License to start operating the new school.
